LIBRARY SERVICES

Two Audiovisual Viewing Rooms offer a quiet viewing and listening space with a TV and DVD player for students, faculty and staff to use multimedia resources. The service will be available for groups of 3 students or more.  In order to avoid inappropriate behaviors, a boy and a girl are not allowed to use the room together.

MUIC library owns a number of videocassettes, audiocassettes, DVDs, VCDs and CD-ROM databases that can be used to support learning and teaching or used for entertainment. Please contact the One Stop Service Counter and fill in the request form. There are two Audio visual viewing rooms available to watch DVDs, VDOs, and VCDs.

  • MEMBERSHIP

1. Full – Time Faculty can check out a maximum of 20 books for 20 days.

2. Part – Time Faculty can check out a maximum of 10 books for 10 days

3. Staff can check out a maximum of 20 books for 20 days.

4. Students can check out a maximum of 10 books for 10 days.
 
  • BORROW AND RENEW

Borrowed books may be renewed twice to extend the loan period, and provided that no other members are requesting it. To renew, bring the item and library card to the One Stop Service Counter to be re-stamped.

  • RESERVED BOOK

Books on loan to other users may be reserved. To reserve books, please contact the library staffs at One Stop Service Counter.

  • OVERDUE FINE

All overdue materials are charged with a fine of 10 Baht per day. It is the responsibility of users to return the borrowed materials on time regardless of absence, vocation, illness, or lack of notification. Users cannot borrow any item until the payment has been made. Failure to pay fines will results in deterring of courses registration.

  • LOSS OF MATERIALS

Users must report any loss of materials to the One Stop Service Counter immediately, and must pay for the processing fees, overdue fees, and replacement copy. These fees will be calculated from the due date to the date of reported lost.

The Circulation staff handles the borrowing, returning, and renewal of MUIC Library materials, as well as the processing of payment for library fines. The Circulation Desk can be reached at (02) 700-5000 extend 1415 or iclibrary@mahidol.ac.th.

Mahidol University and MUIC Library subscribe to a variety of e-journals, online databases and e-books. They are accessible from any PC connected to the MUC-Net. For more information : http://www.li.mahidol.ac.th/e-resource/databases.php

There are 4 rooms available for group study in MUIC Library. It is designed to facilitate and encourage collaborative work, to provide discussion and study space for groups of 3 to 8 students.

The objective of Language Lab is to help all students improve language skills. The Lab consists of 10 work stations suitable for classes that required careful listening activities, and facilitate pronunciation and speaking practice.

At the beginning of each trimester, the following orientation programs are offered on a drop-in basis:

–         Tour of MUIC Library

–         Introduction to INNOPAC

–         Introduction to online catalog system

–         Introduction to electronic resources

Mahidol Library Book Mobile is a more convenient service provided to save your borrowing time and make accessing materials from other MU Libraries outside Salaya Campus more convenient. To use this service, please contact the staffs at One Stop Service Counter. After placing the request, the materials will arrive within 2 business days.
